Barnsley Sign Connor O'Riordan on Loan to Strengthen Defense

Barnsley have moved to strengthen their back line with the season fast approaching, securing Blackburn Rovers defender Connor O'Riordan on a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer.

The Republic of Ireland youth international, capped up to Under-21 level, already knows the grind of League One. He spent the first half of last season on loan at Doncaster, learning the division’s tempo and physical edge before returning to Ewood Park in January.

Back at Blackburn, he didn’t just make up the numbers. O'Riordan featured six times in all competitions for the Championship side, a small but significant step into a higher level that will not have gone unnoticed by Barnsley’s recruitment team.
