Covington vs. Muhammad: Grudge Match at RAF 13
The lights go down in Miami tonight, and the noise comes up.
Real American Freestyle (RAF) rolls into the Watsco Center for its thirteenth event, a card built on crossover star power, simmering grudges, and a slate of title fights that drag some of the UFC’s most familiar names back onto the mats.
Covington vs. Muhammad: Grudge Match for Crossover Gold
At the top of the bill, Colby Covington and Belal Muhammad bring their welterweight feud into a different arena, colliding for the RAF Cruiserweight crossover championship at 190 pounds.
Covington, once a UFC Welterweight title challenger and never shy about leaning into controversy, steps into a rule set that strips away the cage and the gloves and leaves him with what he’s always claimed to have in abundance: wrestling and pressure. Across from him, Muhammad, a former UFC Welterweight champion, arrives with a point to prove and a résumé built on relentlessness. There is history between them, and none of it is warm.
This isn’t just another booking. It’s a grudge match repackaged as a wrestling showcase, with a championship on the line and reputations hanging in the balance.
RAF 13 goes live at 8 p.m. ET, streaming exclusively on FOX Nation.
Chimaev vs. Burns: Familiar Foes, New Battleground
The co-main event reads like a flashback to one of the UFC’s most frantic wars, but the setting has changed.
Khamzat Chimaev, former UFC Middleweight champion, returns to his roots on the mats in a catchweight showdown with former UFC title challenger Gilbert Burns. Their first meeting in MMA was chaos. Here, the chaos narrows into scrambles, hand-fighting, and positional battles.
Chimaev’s raw, suffocating style meets Burns’ world-class grappling in a purer form. No small gloves. No fence. Just pressure, pace, and whoever breaks first.
Rockhold, Pyfer and a Stack of RAF Gold
Name value runs deep on this card.
Joe Pyfer, one of the UFC’s rising Middleweight contenders, makes his RAF debut against former UFC champion Luke Rockhold at 215 pounds. It’s a compelling clash of eras: Pyfer’s surging momentum against Rockhold’s veteran craft and physical presence. For Rockhold, it’s another chance to show he still has the tools. For Pyfer, it’s a statement opportunity in front of a new audience.
Four RAF titles are also on the line, scattered across a main card that leans heavily into high-level wrestling and crossover intrigue:
- At 150 pounds, Kennedy Blades meets Diana Avsaragova for the RAF Women’s Middleweight Championship, a showcase of athleticism and aggression in a division still carving out its identity.
- At 135 pounds, Austin DeSanto faces Arsen Harutyunyan for the RAF Bantamweight Championship, a matchup that promises a furious pace and little room to breathe.
- At 175 pounds, Jason Nolf takes on Julian Ramirez with the RAF Middleweight Championship at stake, pitting Nolf’s relentless style against Ramirez’s grit.
- The RAF Featherweight Crossover Championship has already produced a clear result: Cayden Henschel defeated Johnni DiJulius on points, 7–2, to claim the crown at 145 pounds.
Early Results: Pins, Points and Statement Wins
The undercard has already delivered its share of decisive finishes and tactical battles.
At 145 pounds, Cayden Henschel outworked Johnni DiJulius, controlling the tempo and winning the positional exchanges to secure a 7–2 points victory and the RAF Featherweight Crossover title.
At 155 pounds, Jacori Teemer turned in a strong performance against Haji Aliyev, taking a 9–6 decision in a match that swung on key scoring bursts and late composure.
Cesar Alvan made his mark at 175 pounds, pinning Jeremiah Moody in the second period, a ruthless finish that underlined the danger of a single mistake on the mat.
In a catchweight bout, Mugzy produced another second-period pin, this time against Real Tarzann, closing the show with authority and adding a highlight-reel finish to the early slate.
The card also features:
- Michael Caliendo vs. Timur Bizhoev at 165 pounds
- Georgios Kougioumtsidis vs. Chance Marsteller at 190 pounds
- Bryce Meredith vs. Movlid Khaybulaev at 165 pounds
Each of these matchups brings its own clash of styles, its own stakes, its own chance for someone to walk out of Miami with their profile elevated.
Tonight, though, everything funnels back to that main event. Covington and Muhammad, with all their history and all their talk, finally stripped down to the fundamentals.
No excuses. Just the mat, the whistle, and one more chapter in a rivalry that refuses to die.
