Real Madrid's Endrick Rejects Football Pressure Claims, Highlights Workers' Struggles
Real Madrid forward Endrick has downplayed the pressures faced by professional footballers, contrasting their privileged lives with the daily struggles of ordinary workers. The Brazilian star suggested that competing at the highest level is not as challenging compared to the realities many people face.
Brazilian Forward Shares Grounded Viewpoint
Speaking during his international duty with Brazil, known as the Selecao, the former Palmeiras player acknowledged tense moments in matches but refused to label playing professional football as a tough life. He emphasized the transformative impact of the huge wages earned by top footballers on their families, which he believes surpasses any hardships.
Madrid Star Urges Gratitude Over Complaints
In an interview with Brazilian TV channel TV Globo, Endrick highlighted the importance of appreciating what football offers. He said, "We [footballers] face enormous pressure, but we have to be grateful for what football provides us. Of course there are high-pressure moments, but football gives us wonderful things that can change our families' lives."
He rejected the idea that being a player is hard, adding, "It isn't hard being a footballer. Yes, certain things that happen are difficult, but we cannot claim that being a player is hard. What's hard is being someone who wakes up at 5am to go to work, laboring Monday to Sunday."
Perspective from a Young Star
Showing maturity beyond his years, Endrick put the demands of football into perspective by reminding fellow professionals to value their fortunes rather than struggle under the spotlight. He concluded, "We are inside football, doing what we love most and earning money that can change our family's life. We just have to thank God for this moment."
