Manchester United Set to Sign Sweden Winger Monica Jusu Bah
Manchester United are set to add serious pace and power to their attack after agreeing terms to sign Sweden winger Monica Jusu Bah from BK Häcken.
The 23-year-old is expected to complete the move before next Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, with only the final formalities standing between her and a switch to England.
United will have to pay for the privilege. Jusu Bah signed a contract extension with Häcken in September 2025, tying her to the Swedish club until 2028, so this is no bargain-bin deal. The exact fee remains undisclosed, but prising away one of the Damallsvenskan’s standout wide players under long-term contract will not come cheap.
Her journey has been entirely rooted in Sweden so far. She broke through at Umeå, catching the eye with her direct running and willingness to attack full-backs, before earning a move to Häcken in 2023. That step up brought trophies and European nights – and, inevitably, attention from bigger leagues.
In May, Jusu Bah helped Häcken lift the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, underlining her ability to deliver on a bigger stage. That form has translated to the international arena too. She has already won 11 caps for Sweden and featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, a sign of how firmly she has forced her way into the national setup.
Broader Late-Window Push
For United, this is part of a broader late-window push. The club want at least one more signing through the door before the deadline as they reshape a squad that has chased, but not yet caught, the WSL’s established elite.
The groundwork is already visible. Defender Andrea Medina has arrived from Atletico Madrid, adding bite and balance at the back. Goalkeeper Janina Leitzig has come in from Leicester City to stiffen competition between the posts.
Now comes Jusu Bah – a winger in her prime years, battle-tested in Sweden, proven in Europe, and already trusted at international level.
If United get this over the line in time, it will not just be another name on a list. It will be a clear statement about where they intend to aim in this WSL season and beyond.
