Manchester United Set to Sign Sweden Winger Monica Jusu Bah

Manchester United are set to add serious pace and power to their forward line after agreeing terms to sign Sweden winger Monica Jusu Bah from BK Häcken.

The 23-year-old is expected to complete her move before next Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, a late-window push from United to sharpen their attacking edge for the second half of the season.

Jusu Bah is no bargain-bin opportunity. She signed an extension with Häcken in September 2025 and is contracted there until 2028, so United will pay a transfer fee, though the figure remains undisclosed. It underlines how firmly the Swedish club had tied down one of their key assets – and how determined United are to bring her in now rather than wait.

Her entire career to this point has been built in Sweden. She broke through at Umeå, growing from promising youngster into a fully-fledged international prospect, before making the jump to Häcken in 2023. That move pushed her onto a bigger stage, and she responded.

In May, Jusu Bah helped BK Häcken lift the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, a landmark moment for the club and a clear sign of her ability to deliver on major occasions. The European medal now comes with her to Manchester, along with a growing reputation as a winger who can hurt teams at the highest level.

Her rise has been mirrored in the national team. Jusu Bah has already made 11 appearances for Sweden and featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, a show of faith from the national setup and proof she can handle the demands of international football.

United’s recruitment drive is not stopping with her. The club are understood to be targeting at least one more signing before next week’s deadline as they try to reshape and deepen the squad for the run-in.

They have already moved decisively this window, bringing in defender Andrea Medina from Atletico Madrid and goalkeeper Janina Leitzig from Leicester City. With Jusu Bah now on the way, the spine and the flanks are being reinforced.

The question is no longer whether Manchester United are serious about this rebuild. It is how far this new-look squad can push once their Swedish winger is unleashed in the WSL.
