Paris FC Targets Jonathan David as Immobile Successor

Paris FC have set their sights on Juventus forward Jonathan David as they scramble to reshape their attack after the shock retirement of Ciro Immobile, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

David, 26, arrived in Turin from Lille OSC on a free transfer last summer but never truly settled. His time under Luciano Spalletti has drifted rather than ignited, and the Juventus coach is now ready to move him on, the Italian outlet reports.

That has opened a door. Paris FC, already active in the market after selling Willem Geubbels earlier in the window and bringing in Lassine Sinayoko, suddenly find themselves one striker short of what they had planned. Immobile had been expected to go again for at least one more season, only to stun the dressing room last month by announcing his imminent retirement.

The plan up front changed in an instant.

Paris FC now want one more weapon in attack, and David has quickly climbed their shortlist. A Canada international with top-flight experience in France and Italy, he offers a profile that fits: mobile, hard-working, and with a track record of goals when given trust and rhythm.

The path to a deal, though, is anything but clear.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Atlético Madrid are also in the frame, providing heavyweight competition for his signature. For David, the choice looks stark: a fresh start in a project where he could become the reference point in attack, or a move to a Champions League regular fighting on multiple fronts.

Paris FC know they need to move decisively. Lose this race, and replacing Immobile’s presence and pedigree becomes an even taller order.
