Gay's century marked his fourth in just ten Championship innings this season, reinforcing his vital role as Durham continues to press forward despite already securing the Division Two title.
Partnerships Fuel Durham’s Momentum
Gay shared a solid 114-run partnership with Ben McKinney, who contributed a well-made 71 and surpassed 1,000 first-class runs for the season during his innings. Later, Mayank Agarwal joined Gay to add an impressive 168 runs together before Gay was caught at second slip off Ben Walkden, with the team just eight runs shy of earning a second batting point.
